Branding / Packaging
An interesting challenge for a packaging project is to dispel consumer myths. There has long been misunderstandings about how to use WD-40 on bikes as it is technically not a lubricant. WD-40 had developed a line-up of fantastic products for the specific demands of bike maintenance and needed a new look that separated them from the Swiss-army knife that is the flagship WD-40 product.
Great care was taken in the design process to retain the brand recognition of WD-40 and extend that reputation to a new market. I led a team and ultimately designed the final concepts and production artwork for this new line-up of products. A distinct visual identity was created as well as a full brand style guide, stationery, packaging system and custom vehicle wraps.
